About me
Throughout my entire life, I have always admired the art and animation of both cartoons and movies, particularly the works of Nickelodeon, Cartoon Network, DreamWorks, Disney and Pixar. My passion to pursue animation began after watching the Pixar film Toy Story, as the VHS I rented included a bonus behind-the-scenes featurette.
Since then, I have continued studying the process of animation production and have an extensive knowledge on their history. Fueled by my interest in creativity, I began taking courses in high school related to art, including drawing, painting, and video production.
My skills have stemmed from drawing classic cartoon characters on television from memory to eventually creating my own characters. My greatest influences come from animated films and TV programs made specifically to tell a story and connect with its viewers. Thus, the things that I create are made with the potential to tell stories of their own. While people often use words to express how they think or feel, I prefer using art and design to get my ideas across. Although a majority of my work consists of cartoonish designs and are done traditionally on physical paper and pencil, I am also developing skills to adapt to technology, as well as experiment with new techniques and mediums. Using my self-taught skills, my creations are made for the purpose of telling stories and displaying messages/topics that people wouldn't typically think about in ways they wouldn’t think about them. Whether they be characters, backgrounds, or objects, anything can tell a tale if you know where to look.
I seek to use my skills in any animation and/or design projects, including, but not limited to advertising, television, film, visual effects and book illustration.
